When you say you have changed the font sizes, do you mean by editing the
style sheets?
If you change the font size in the style sheet, that should be replicated in
the report, if you select that style sheet in the report's options.
You can test this without wasting paper/ink by exporting the reports as HTML
files, then viewing them in a web browser, and also doing a print preview
(which you can't in GnuCash).

If after doing this GnuCash ignores the stylesheets and prints regardless,
then at least the external export/view/print method will work.
