help closing tabs

Hello,
I am using gnucash in a very basic way -- to run a small music studio business.  I generally only use it for keeping track of income and expenses and very simply cash flow reports.

The question I have is about the tabs that appear across the top of the window -- everytime I do something like create a new report it adds a tab for it, and it's cumbersome to tab through a zillion tabs to get back to account summary or some category of expenses I'm looking for.  Is there a way to delete some of the tabs?  I have only been using this for about 6 months, and I can't imagine what a pain it will be like in another year or longer.
