downloading QIF files

Do your QIF files have the same format as
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quicken_Interchange_Format 

It's possible that you may have to remove a header and footer from the
downloaded file before feeding it to GnuCash.  

I download csv files, and it takes a lot of conditioning before it's ready
to be imported to GnuCash (removing header, footer).
