"No file" on starting Gnucash

It usually means that you last closed Gnucash with no file open. If it couldn't find a file where it expected it to be it will pop up a message box saying so.
Select the File menu: Near the bottom you should see the files you've recently opened. Select one of them, and if it loads, nothing untoward has happened. If it doesn't open, you can use your OS's search function to find it, after which you can navigate to it in the File>Open dialog box.
