RE: 2.4.11 Compatible with Windows 8???

I am still running the Release Preview of Windows 8. I can dual boot between this and Windows 7 (on separate disks). I have been using gnucash on Windows 7 for several years. When I installed it on my Windows 8, I simply opened the latest data file on my Windows 7 disk (D: to my Windows 8), did a save, and closed it. I then created a Start Tile for my Windows 8. Works great. Now I can change the (common) data files from either Windows 8 or Windows 7.

I did it this way for two reasons:

(1) My Windows 8 is on an SSD. I have heard that their write lifetime is less than on a mag. disk, so I might leave my data files on the mag. disk.

(2) I wanted to make sure that I would like Windows 8 before doing a full upgrade. I do, and I plan to upgrade soon.

It seems to be. I ran it successfully on the first developer release last spring, and others have reported running it on released Win8.
