I've been using gnuCash v 2.4.6 problem-free on Windows Vista. I upgraded in-place to v 2.4.11. When I opened gnuCash I get the slash screen for just an instant and then nothing -- no error message, nothing. I re-installed in-place and g ot the same result. Then I un-installed and re-installed. Same thing. Something interesting: I alter the HOME environment variable to point to an alternate place. When I un- installed , the install directory remained but there was no  e tc/gnucash / environment file. B ut when I re- installed the file appeared with ~ my~ environment variable in place. Where did that come from? Any help ?
