Income and Exp Comparison Reports

GnuCash has an option to reverse the sign on accounts that are primarily
negative (e.g. Liability accounts).  One possibility is that you have
that set improperly.  Try Edit -> Preferences -> Accounts and set the
Reversed Balance Accounts to "Credit accounts"
