Help on gnc-fq-dump output

What gave you the idea that I'm the Finance-Quote author?  I'm 
certainly not, although I have looked at the code a few times.

Speaking of looking at the code, if you look at the code of 
gnc-fq-dump, you'll see that the "deduced" tag is inserted if the 
Finance-Quote module doesn't fill in the "symbol" field in the returned 
results.  This sounds like a pretty easy thing to fix in the module 
that is retrieving the quotes.  It's got nothing to do with white space 
in the symbol.
