MaryAnn:
There is no provision for it in GnuCash, nor is there any need. In Reports, you can select the report that you want, and under Options, select the period that you wish to cover (there are pre-selections for the current year, previous year, etc). This gives you the same results as Year-End Closing in other systems.
Hope that this helps
Graham

Subject: year end close
I feel like I am missing something, but I can not find anything on
closing the accounting period. I have spent a couple hours looking for
this in help and on the web site. All accounting software I have used
previously has the ability to close the year end. Can someone tell me
how to do this with gnucash?
I appreciate your assistance
Thank you,
matib at prodigy.net
