Windows 8?

I'm wishing to start using Gnu Cash for the books of a small union local - 
previous treasurer did everything by hand for the last 35 years....

Is the current version, 2.4.11, able to be run on Windows 8?  Or would I 
need to go back to Vista or 7 to be stable?  Although I can't be the first 
to ask this, the mailing list search page was not helpful.
