re: the accounts, I am trying to see all accounts.  Selecting accounts 
is another step.
I just ran the "general journal (in the balance sheet menu?) report" and 
saw all three transactions.  but all transactions in the transactions 
report shows none.  someone else on the list is having the same 
problem.  hope a gnu guru sees it and finds a solution!
