auto update investments fails

Jeff--

I'm not sure what you mean by "automatically update my investments." Could you elaborate? You see, my understanding is that GnuCash will only update commodity prices via user action--i.e., by clicking Update Prices in the Price Editor.

Given that, it's not clear where you are seeing these errors, or how you are invoking them.

It does seem as if your installation doesn't have the DBD back end database drivers installed, which would be problematic if you were trying to use the database back end.

Subject: auto update investments fails

I am trying to set up gnu cash to automatically update my investments.  I am using verion 2.4.10 on Debian 7.  I executed the update command and received the following log.  Note the apparent errors on the third line:
  06:05:51  INFO <qof.engine> [guid_init]
got 21169 bytes
* 06:05:51  INFO <gnc.backend.dbi> [gnc_module_init_backend_dbi] GNC_DBD_DIR not set: using libdbi built-in default

* 06:05:51  WARN <gnc.backend.dbi> [gnc_module_init_backend_dbi()] No DBD drivers found

* 06:05:51  INFO <gnc.engine> [gnc_hook_lookup] no hook lists

* 06:05:52 MESSG <gnc.scm> Found Finance::Quote version 1.17

* 06:05:52  INFO <gnc.account> [xaccAccountRecomputeBalance] acct=Template Root starting baln=0/1

* 06:05:52  INFO <gnc.commodity> [gnc_commodity_table_insert] insert 0x88f7138 template into nsp=0x88f6840 template

* 06:05:52  INFO <gnc.commodity> [gnc_commodity_table_insert] insert 0x88f7d78 ADF into nsp=0x88f6a80 CURRENCY
Please tell me what I need to do to get this working.

Thanks,
