Joseph,
Just for jollies, click on Tools:General Ledger.  If there are only two
transactions present, your transfer of $1,000.00 from opening balance to
checking and your transfer of $400.00 from checking to payroll expense
as you suggest in your previous e-mail, then there may be a problem with
the report.  If there are other transactions, the report may be correct
and your problem may lie elsewhere.

Your 'snapshots' are not getting through to the list.
