This looks like a problem in your qif-account-map file.  Could you
attach a copy of that file?

You're obviously welcome to think and feel whatever you want, but I can
assure you that GnuCash is being used happily by thousands,
tens-of-thousands of users.  Bugs, in general, wind up being corner
cases that hit infrequently and only hit a small fraction of users.
They are also, often, very hard to reproduce.
