Can you get invoices to use other than an Income Account?

You're totally correct, it is like a loan.  The way the invoice wants 
use an income account to record the transaction has the effect of 
showing me receiving income on the reports.  The way around this is to 
use an A/R account, but its getting the invoice to accept it.
