FYI,

I've been using gnuCash  successfully

• on Windows Vista since April, 2009 ... no problems, and

• on Windows 8 since March, 2013 ... (gnuCash 2.4.11) ... no problems!

I haven't upgraded to the latest stable release (2.4.13) yet.
