Unless you are in Germany gnucash can only model transactions and not make them real.

I read that GnuCash does transfers. What I haven't been able to find out is
if transfers initiated in GnuCash are actually executed on the bank side OR
if they merely represent expected transfers. 

Can GnuCash actually perform intrabank transfers or is the transfer function
just a way of keeping track of repetitive transfers made outside the
program?
