Importing Bank Transactions into GnuCash

The question is pretty meaningless unless you tell us what sort of
accounts they are and from where or what you want to import them?  For
example they might be on paper or you might be trying to import from
Quicken.
Also what information do you need to import?  Complete history of the
account transactions or just current balance, for example.
