cannot install gc 2.6 for ubuntu

I believe that Tommy was including Xubuntu when he said ubuntu.  It is
the version number that is important.  Xubuntu 13.10 should be ok I
believe.  Of course if you do not need 2.6 then remove getdeb and use
2.4 from the standard repo.
