gnucash 2.6 problem

The first problem sounds like https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=721290 . Is it? If not, could you try describing it again in a bit more detail? 

What OS are you using, and what backend (did you change the file type when you saved your file)?
