File Transfer Problem

Hi,

I use a desktop: Win 7 Pro 64, 4G RAM where I have and use GnuCash
and am thoroughly satisfied with. August 2010, I bought a Toshiba
laptop: Win 7 Home Premium 64 where I installed GnuCash also. I then
used the data files back and forth between the laptop and desktop for
over three years with no problems, until now. The desktop is my main
computer where all transactions, calculations and reporting is done.
Three weeks ago, when transfering the data files to the laptop (via USB
flash drive as I have done for over 3 years), the dates were moved one
day behind on the transferred file within the laptop. For the past 3
weeks I did considerable testing. I deleted Gnucash from the laptop, as
well as the registry entries and C:\users\name\.gconf, .gconfd,
.gnome2, gnome2_private, .gnucash files. I fed in the USB data files
into the desktop and the dates were all correct, so the problem is not
the USB flash drive or the transferred file. Both computers are running
the same version of GnuCash - 2.4.13. I reinstalled GnuCash and still
the problem persists.
The dates are changed for all transactions of all accounts going all
the way back to inception. Is there some setting changed on the
laptop? What happened? Can I no longer use my laptop as a backup computer?

Greg
