Uploading from Financial Institution

In my experience I can download in OFX or QFX format directly from my
FI's then import into GnuCash.  I have not had good luck with direct
downloads into GnuCash.  When I was trying the direct download method
(years ago) I sometimes found that I needed to use Quicken first then
read the Quicken download file to pick out the correct values for some
of the parameters, but direct downloads did not work consistently for
me.  All of my banks are in the US.
