How to configure the budget report to put a zero or space in bgt & diff columns

I frequently need to save my budget report to html and then open it in Excel in order to work with the data.  Unfortunately the report places a period (.) in the budget and diff columns if no budget value has been set.  I would prefer a space or a zero so that I can easily sum the column in Excel.  Right now I have to replace all the . values with 0 in order to sum the columns.  I've looked at the options but haven't found a way to accomplish this.
