Nice catch.  This report may not work correctly if you strictly follow
the Tutorial Chapter 8.8.1 or section 8.8.2
<http://www.gnucash.org/viewdoc.phtml?rev=2.6&lang=C&doc=guide>.  You
need to have references in the _same_ transaction to the security
account and the income account as well as the brokerage account.  If you
edit an income transaction similar to those in section 8.8.1 by tabbing
to the empty line and adding a reference to the security account with
zero shares, this will associate the income to the security.  Let us
know if that works for you.
