Application Hanging for Reconcile

Hello,
I have been using Gnucash for years but just yesterday it started hanging
when I click on the reconcile icon. The small popup for date and balances
pops up but I cannot do anything with it. I think when I would do the
reconcile before another popup also came up. I usually just closed it and
went on to the date/balance popup.At this point the application is hung and
I have to end using the Task Manager.

I downloaded the software again. Still the same error. Can you point me in
some direction to solve this?
