2.6.3 from GetDeb crashing on Ubuntu 14.04

I reported previously that the remove>purge>reinstall the getdeb package
of 2.6.3 had resolved the application hang on closing problem with
Ubuntu 14.4 64-bit on my computer. That was true until last night when
the problem manifest again.
I installed the Gnucash package from the repository for the next version
of Ubuntu (14.10) this morning. It has worked well through five
open/close cycles, some transaction downloads, a security price update
and the printing of a couple of reports. I don't know if it has fully
resolved the problem (won't make that leap, again) but so far so good...
0. Make a safety copy of the Gnucash data file and any custom check and
report formats/templates you may have installed. They should survive
into the new installation of the Gnucash package, but having a good
backup will insure they do.
1. Remove the existing GnuCash and associated settings files (sudo
apt-get purge gnucash)
2. Remove existing GnuCash dependencies (sudo apt-get autoremove)
3. download Guncash 2.6.3 from the Ubuntu 14.10 package repository
(http://packages.ubuntu.com/utopic/amd64/gnucash/download)
4. download Gnucash-common from 14.10 repository
(http://packages.ubuntu.com/utopic/gnucash-common)
5. Install gnucash-common (doubleclick on the download should start the
package installer, gnucash-common must precede gnucash)
6. Install gnucash
The installer did not require, request, ask for or demand any other
downloads to satisfy dependencies on my installation. If, however, it
should tell you that it requires another file to install gnucash, you
should be able to download it from the Utopic package repository. Make
sure to check the version carefully to ensure the dependency will be
satisfied, install that package (repeat if necessary with other files)
and try the Gnucash install again.
Good luck
