getting a summary of subaccount

Unclear what you want to see and where you want to see it.

1) See all the transactions --- no.
2) See all the balances      --- yes  (and so we need to ask where are 
you looking)

If in your chart of accounts you have Christmas, tax, and holiday all 
set up as child account under the parent bank account:
a) When IN "bank" (when this account is open) you would see all the 
transactions NOT associated with these child accounts EXCEPT those 
transactions where you transfer funds between << and the balance of the 
account >>
b) When IN one of the "provision" accounts you see the transactions 
associated with just that account << and the account balance >>
c) When you are just looking at the chart of accounts << the "accounts" 
tab >> you should see all your accounts << if expanding the view for 
children of a parent >> with the balance in that account.
