That is a very vague description of your problem.  When does it start to
happen?  I don't think GnuCash waits for you to misspell something.  Is
it in all windows?  is it only in the transaction description field of
one account or any account?  Is it ok in other parts of a transaction? 
Does the mouse work?  Does the tab key work?  How about Home and End
keys?  Does your document editor work correctly?  Do other programs work
correctly?
