David,

Thanks for Command Line Tools suggestion. It worked like a champ. All is now well with Gnucash and Finance::Quote.

Jed,

When you upgrade, I think you have to run Finance Quote Update (it's in the download bundle) again. Be sure you have the Xcode command line tools installed as well.

Subject: OS X 10.7.5 Finance::Quote failed installation

A question about the proper Perl environment to successfully install
Finance::Quote for use in Gnucash 2.4.13 on OS X 10.7.5.

I had been successfully running Gnucash 2.4.13 with Finance::Quote 1.35
on OS X 10.6.8 with Xcode 3.?. I'm pretty sure the Xcode 3.?
environment was what I used to get Finance::Quote to successfully install.

Yesterday I upgraded OS X 10.6.8 to 10.7.5 and Xcode 3.? to 4.6.2.
Guncash 2.4.13 works just fine but the "Get Quote" link in the Price
Editor is grayed out. When I run gnc-fq-update, there are multiple
errors most of which involve make. And so I'm wondering if I have the
proper Perl environment.

Any suggestions appreciated.
