Confusion

Good morning,

I finally gave up on using split transactions as I can't make them work for me on deposits.  I decided to make a deposit that needs to be split without trying to use splits.
For example say I make a deposit for $100.00 of which $50.00 is from ticket income and $50.00
Is from rod run entry fees.  The deposit shows $100.00 to ticket income.I then hit the transfer button and enter $50.00 in the from ticket income and $50.00 to rod run entry fees.
Problem now is that ticket income has increased by $50.00 and rod run entry fees has been reduced by $50.00.
What in the world is going on?  I just can't see why the postings should be reversed.
