Actually that is a good idea! I thought of using the record number in 
the file, but that is dependent on the file (the start date of the 
download). However, I suppose I could use a followup number, which would 
include a sequence number 1 if the same transaction occurs on the same 
date (same amount etc), and so on.

Yes, that might work. Thanks for the 2 cents, I am going to use it!

Still, I need to know whether I need to revert to a previous backup to 
prevent problems in the current duplicate FITID situation. Anyone?
