Reluctantly Going Back to QuickBooks

I am planning on switching my business over to GnuCash from QuickBooks 
at the beginning of my financial year (1st March). But I won't be even 
trying to import, I shall just put opening balances in.  If you really 
want to switch, could you not do that? (just a thought)

I actually liked Quickbooks, which in many ways is easier to use for a 
business, but will be going over to GnuCash mainly because my version is 
no longer supported and I refuse to update and pay a monthly fee.  
Problem is if I format or get a new computer it I have to ring them for 
a code - how long will they keep giving me one?

I have already started using GC for accounts I do for a non-profit club, 
so have been learning my way around with those.
