Congratulations on your success with David!
I've been slowly transitioning from Windows for some time. I'm still
running GnuCash side by side with Quicken and plan to do that for a few more
months to make sure I am setup correctly. Quicken was the last thing I had
to keep Windows for.

I read Tutorial and Concepts Guide extensively. I spent a lot of time
searching Google for answers to my questions and eventually found GnuCash on
nabble. I subscribed to the nabble and have mail delivery turned on. I
follow the threads to see if there is any relevant info for my situation. I
search the mail list with nabble and gmane
<http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gnome.apps.gnucash.user> for any
questions I have. So far I've been able to find the info I needed thanks to
the knowledgeable people that have replied to the threads.

I run Windows as a virtual guest on my Linux host using VirtualBox. I'm
currently running GnuCash in Xubuntu.

I feel safer using the GnuCash version in the repositories. David's depends
on what Linux Mint release and which Ubuntu release it tracks. I'm
currently using GnuCash 2.6.1 without issue.
