I too just put Mint Rebecca 17.1 Cinnamon 64 bit into a VM and used the
software center to hook up to several repos and download GnuCash 2.6.5
with common files and help files.  So far it works very well for me too,
except that the OFX import has some poor graphics for some reason.

My favorite card game is called PySol Fan Club which installed, but I
cannot find it to play it.  It works nicely in Ubuntu 12.04, so once I
figure out how to open it...
