Question on autofill of description field

I find it makes more sense to enter transactions by hand once every day or
every few days. You will probably do less work in the end, formatting will
be as you like it, and your data may be more up-to-date. Downloaded data
from the bank can then be used to reconcile against your data; if the bank
is supplying all the data, reconciliation is meaningless.
If you're trying to enter a description like "Mangos Cafe" and there's
already a description like "MANGOS CAFE RESTAURANT", you can try the
following: Type the description in the case you want. While you are typing,
GnuCash will offer the most recent consistent autocompletion; just ignore
what it is offering. Then put two (or perhaps more) spaces at the end.
GnuCash will realize that autocompletion is not possible and will restore
the case you selected.
