Dear Geert,
I just want to take a moment to Thank you and others for straightening me out on my original issue. This got us going again, only to hit other impenetrable walls, but I will save that for another e-mail. My mea culpa is that I definitely didn't do my due diligence of learning before starting on GC and turning things over to the person I was trying to help. I've since caught up as best I can. On to something Gnu and thanks again for your patience. My adivce to a Newbie starting in with GC is to take the time to go through the tutorials. It won't teach you everything by a long shot, but is essential to getting anywhere in reasonably good order. Setting up your chart of accounts in such a way that it will serve you well into the future is particularly important.

Ron,
I got your file in good order. I'm happy to tell you there's no
mysterious bug :D
The account in question had a filter applied to it to
only show
transactions between Jan 1st, 2014 and Dec 31st, 2014. And you had
chosen to save this filter.
To fix:
- Open the account register for
"Utilities:Electricity"
- The go to View->Filter by...
- Change the selection
in the Date tab to "Show all"
- Double check "Save Filter" is ticked
- Click
Ok
Hopefully this will get you going again :)
Regards,
Geert
