Problems Running gnuCash in Mint 17.2

After a few hours usage, LibreOffice applications blacken out the menu 
options like this, getting worse and worse over time:




Anyone have leads on how to fix this better than rebooting constantly? 
While it's not GC exactly, my usage ties the two together inextricably.
