There are a number of us here that understand non-profits.  Large-ess is 
a view as I am sure you are aware :)

Balance sheets: GnuCash has what might be thought as a static one and a 
dynamic one if you are changing accounts and refreshing the balance 
sheet as you go along.  the eguile one is dynamic, the other one expects 
you to tell it accounts (rather than account balances) have changed.

Nope, the balance sheets are fine.  See hints from Mike and Alex en 
thread.

I don't think you need much help but you're welcome to ask and if you 
like it you're in the right bit of the accounting world because, weirdly 
enough, non-profit accounting is nominally expensive, etc.
