Hi Andy,

 

There should not be a ‘|’ (pipe) on the end of the command. 

Using the shorter of the 2 commands I suggested, it should be just

 

zcat -f /var/log/dpkg.log* | grep -i gnucash

 

I expect there should at least be some info about the recent GnuCash installation shown.
