Robyn Stratford asked :

Has anyone tried it (gnucash) with Windows 10?

I have been using Gnucash and just updated to the current version these past days. Windows 10 was installed on this Win7pro desktop in August 2015 with no issues. It took a long time to download and approximately half an hour to install. The internet connection is not super fast in my location.
My laptop was 8.1 and I had my doubts about a smooth install so I paid an experienced tech service to install. It took him 3 tries to have the task complete successfully.
My intuition was correct but Gnucash past and current version runs smoothly on the laptop . My doubts about the laptop were based on the horrid upgrade from 8 to 8.1 so my trust level plummeted. I noticed he removed the AVG antivirus in his effort to get the laptop 8.1 upgraded and it is now using the Windows Defender.

The most recent cumulative update for Win10 did not install at first attempt on the desktop. I did an sfc /scannow because I had done some customization to the ProgramData\StartMenu and the update was focused on the start menu plus these new apps. It had trouble with my moving of start menu links. The scannow replaced/repaired my rearrangements and the Sept update installed. I am not using any of the new 'fancy' apps nor did I keep any of the square tiles on the start screen but I did put in a toolbar linking to the original start menu which is customized by topic and moving a windows system shortcut was not acceptable to the update routine.

If the existing system is 'clean' then the update flows right along is my opinion. Basically the annoying stuff of version 8.1 was removed and overall I don't see any difference in the day to day operation using the Desktop ( version 7 to version 10) Gnucash was one of the first programs I checked after the August install <grin>
