dropdown box only works after resizing gnucash window

The drop down boxes in the account window do not enfold nor does the top
button bar react on a mouse click. 
The menu bar (File, Edit, Transaction etc) does always work.
After re-sizing the main GnuCash window, GnuCash does react and the drop
down box folds out (or the button bar reacts).

I have the impression that is connected to the software program Tortoise
SVN, which is also written with Python. After updating SVN from an old
version to a newer one, this behavior in GnuCash started. 

I am using GnuCash 2.6.7 on Win7 64bit.
Tortoise SVN is version 1.9.1
Also seen the same behavior on Win 10 64bit, where also Tortoise is
installed.
