Tabbing order of fields

I'm a bit confused by your description because I don't have splits
visible. Please do let me know what I've missed in your description so
I can better understand. For what I see, I have double line views
turned on but not automatic splits. In the mutual fund register I have
the columns:
Date, Num, Description, Transfer, R, Shares, Price, Buy Sell, Balance
and Action (on the next line).

If I start on a blank transaction in the Date field, as I tab over I
land on Description, Transfer and then Shares as I would expect assuming
that the description I type in is brand new (never used before in the
ledger).

However, if I repeat the process and reuse a description (let's say
"Dividend") as soon as I tab out of the Description field I jump all the
way to the Buy or Sell field (whatever was used last with that
description). The Shares, Price, Buy and Sell fields all auto populate
with the previously used values but now I don't end up on Shares after
tabbing. It's a minor thing but it makes entering transactions a little
more awkward than other ledgers because the order of data entry is
altered (number of shares isn't always the same and I usually let the
price get autocalculated so that my buy/sell fields match the statement.)
