    When upgrading gnucash in Linux note the warning to users that have Gnucash 2.6.0 to 2.6.4 (may have a different package number in your package manager) in linux on the new release notes for recent releases including today's release 2.6.15

I think you might want to find a repository with newer versions, to reap the best benefits.
