The easiest way for a total newbie (IMHO)

1) Read the instructions for getting started as they apply to using ANY
of the basic example "starter books". Yes, that's not YOUR desired COA
but follow the instructions and give a name to your new books.

2) Open these books and delete all but one (of those starter accounts)
under each top parent (assets, income, expenses, liabilities, equity)

3) Add (at least) one from you intended new CoA ad then delete the
remaining one form the starter accounts. Add the rest from your desired
CoA. Note: I suggest frequent saves as you go along.

4) When your CoA is complete, enter your opening transaction(s) --- if
you use two opening transactions each will be just a one sided split
(wait to try your first two way split till you have more experience).
Remember to check Imbalance!

Michael
