OFX Direct Connect problem

One other thing that might be worth trying is adding a Client UID to the user settings in Edit User in Aqbanking setup. The header version of 103 might effectively be telling the server that it should be expecting a Client UID.

A possible test of the need for this effort would be to create a new data file in Quicken and try to connect to Advia. Quicken generates a ClientUID internally (and hides it from the user completely) and saves the generated value in the Quicken data file. If the ClientUID is really going to serve as a second authentication factor, the bank must have some way to validate the new value Quicken generates for your new file. I would expect that you’d get a message in Quicken telling you how to go about the validation. An additional possibility is that the bank only allows one ClientUID per customer — in which case you’d have to get them to reset your account to accept a new value.

A ClientUID is just a standard UUID without any hyphens. The error code in your original log file is an example of a standard UUID. I find it really curious that your error code is a unique number. Very weird. Maybe that’s the way they run the validation attempt.

Any unix system will generate a UUID with the command “uuidgen”. I don’t know if there is any easily accessible utilities for Windows. There are several UUID generators on the web, if it doesn’t freak you out to get such an item from a public place...
