The -f option did get read of some of the dependency problems. I am
going
to try some of the suggestions from Plutcat. I am on version Linuxmint
17.1

I can probably guess that it is from installing from Getdeb.  Getdeb
only installs the package itself, so to get the rest

sudo apt-get install -f

The -f means 'fix'
