Present/Future transaction dates are so, so wrong

I have version 2.6.11, and I am on Windows 7.
I should add that this account is for a small museum I help out with.  I also have a completely separate one for my personal finances, and I put past entries in that one starting in January of 2015.  And that one is working just fine.  I created that one first, and then maybe a week later created the one that is giving me the problems.
ARGH.  Hate when I can't figure it out!

I don't think you said what OS you are running and what version of GnuCash?  If you're not on 2.6.11 (latest version) I would suggest you upgrade to that and see if your problem is resolved ??

It was on Locale. I tried changing it to US, but it didn't make any difference.  Which should it be?

I'm a new user.  I just created an account that starts with a beginning balance on 4-11-2014.  I have entered all the transactions from that date up to the present.
The big blue line between present and future transactions is between transactions on 4-9-2015 and 4-13-2015.
When I go to add a new transaction, I enter today's date, and when the transaction is done, it moves up to right above the blue line.  So I have transaction dates like this:
4-9-20152-23-2016BIG BLUE LINE4-13-2016
I have no idea what I did, and I haven't been able to find a way to undo it.
Help, please?
