Ubuntu LTS GnuCash "Frozen" at 2.6.9; exception needed

Debian is upstream from Ubuntu. The current version (8.x) is frozen on gnucash 2.6.4, so even further out of date ... 

I filed a bug against Gnucash here

Lets see what happens. I may need some help in getting the extra information in there. Changelog diff, etc, which is mentioned in this https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess
