Proper Method to generate new data file

Hi everyone,

Is there a help file somewhere that gives the proper method for 
generating a new data file keeping the structure, vendors, last invoice 
# etc, but dropping the entry data?  My data file has almost 6 years 
worth of data in it and it's taking a while to open.
