Plot Problems

I am running GC 2.6.10 on Slackware64 v 14.1. Everything seems to work
fine except for the plotting. When I ask for a plot of any kind, I just
get a blank tabbed window. The other text reports work fine. With the
--debug option I get the following messages:

All the files have a+rx permissions and the files are owned by
root.root. Any help would be appreciated.
